Your new companyYou will be working through Hays at an established purpose build school that that provides care for 52 weeks of the year. Made up of 4 houses, the school has the capacity to house up to 40 students aged between 7 and 19 and is registered for both girls and boys with autism and challenging behaviours. The school is dedicated to helping students achieve their full potential and offer an excellent standard of care. Your new role You will be working on a flexible basis as a support worker. You role will be to provide care and guidance to the students whilst following care plans and dealing with situations professionally as they arise. You will need to work closely with the permanent staff members and registered managers to understand each student and their needs. You will be expected to encourage independence and develop communication skills. What you'll need to succeed You will need experience working with children within social care, an NVQ/ Diploma Level 3 would be desirable but not essential. A full drivers licence. Most importantly you need to be someone who has a "can do" attitude, who works on good initiative and be willing to work well as a team to deliver success for the young people in your care. What you'll get in return You will be paid an hourly rate of between £9.00 - £11.00.
