Your new employer is a small, friendly residential home in Soutbourne, just a few miles from Chichester and near to the local train station. They are seeking a Care Assistant to join their small team on a full time permanent basis.
Your new role
Your new role will be providing physical and emotional support to the homes elderly residents. Your role will include assisting with meal times, assisting with personal care, spending time talking to the residents and providing companionship. Over night, your role will be carrying out hourly checks are responding to call bells, as well as carrying out light housekeeping duties such as ironing and cleaning.
The shift times are 08.00 - 20.00, 08.00 - 14.00, 14.00 - 20.00 or night shifts 20.00 - 08.00 all breaks and paid for, as well as a DBS.
The shift pattern is fairly flexible, the home can offer you fixed days or night shifts, if this would work best with your lifestyle.
What you'll need to succeed
To succeed you will need to have at least two years experience within a similar care environment, ideally within elderly care and have experience providing support to dementia residents.
Ideally you will hold a relevant health and social care qualification, such as NVQ2 or 3, or the desire to want to study towards a social care qualification.

An hourly rate from £7.50 per hour, dependant on experience and qualifications
