Locum Qualified Social Worker - Care and Assesment. Salary: £18.31 - £23 per hour + pension, holiday pay - Edinburgh. Job Ref:AR121.

The Social Care Community Partnership are currently looking to recruit a number of experienced Qualified Social Workers on a full-time temporary contract basis for 3 months minimum for our Local Authority Client based in South East Scotland.

We are looking for suitably qualified Social Workers who have experience of undertaking Care management and Assessment duties working in a community based team and working with adults with a learning disability, those experiencing mental health difficulties and older people. An up to date working knowledge of SDS legislation is essential for this post in addition to current SSSC registration as a Social Worker. A working knowledge of SWIFT and AIS is also highly desirable. Succesful candidates will be subject to a Protection of Vulnerable Groups check prior to starting in post. Ideally we are looking for candidates to be available and started within two weeks.


Ideally applicants should have at least 2 years UK post qualifying experience within a statutory social work context and have a proven ability in carrying out initial assessments, IERs and social background reports. Newly Qualified Social Workers with relevant placemennt experience may also be considered.

Applicants MUST possess a relevant qualification in Social Work e.g. DipSW, CCETSW, Degree or Masters in Social Work and be willing to arrange a face to face appointment to register with one of our Consultants or Care Managers at our office based in Straiton - other arrangements can be made if this is not possible.

The successful applicant must also have current registration with the Scottish Social Services Council or HCPC (with the agreement to register with the SSSC), and possess a recent PVG Scheme Record through Disclosure Scotland, this can be applied for through our agency. Applicants must be available for a quick start and ideally have their own car due to the nature and localities of the post. Assistance with temporary accommodation also available.
