Induction Programme launched for social care workers in Northern Ireland

Written by The Editorial Team

The Northern Ireland Social Care Council (NISCC) has launched its new Induction Programme for Social Care Workers, which will replace the 2007 Induction Standards.

The programme is aligned to the Standards of Conduct and Practice and will help and support new staff better understand their role, help build their confidence and make sure they have the skills and knowledge to succeed in the job.

Induction is the first step along learning and developing a pathway that will continue throughout their social care career.

The Induction Programme includes information for social care workers on each learning area, as well as additional notes and guidance for managers.

The NISCC is conscious of the fact that social care workers and their managers are working in a challenging and busy sector and it is their hope that the induction programme will help and support new staff without adding additional pressure or work.
